“Khan” films are the most awaited for Bollywood fans and this week it is the eternal king of romance Shahrukh Khan’s Fan all set to release at the box office. Right from the first teaser to the latest promos everything about Fan is so intriguing, exciting and inquisitive. The film is all set to release this Friday, on 15th April, worldwide. Though one doesn’t really need to watch the film to be a part of the SRK craziness, it’s still the King of Bollywood and but naturally there’s a whole lot of excitement about his movies out there. Skip it if you want, it’ll make you no less of a FAN but nonetheless we give you 8 reasons to watch the film.
1) Shah Rukh Khan
The most important reason is the superstar himself. From films like Dilwale Duhania le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, My Name is Khan and Chak De India to name a few he has made us swoon and enthralled audiences all over the world. He is one of the biggest superstars in the world and an inspiration. A clear shift from his earlier romantic roles and commercial entertainers like Dilwale and Happy New Year. He has clearly reinvented himself with the film we love!


2) The Makeup
The first time we saw SRK as Gaurav Chandana, who plays superstar Aryan Khanna’s obsessive fan we couldn’t believe our eyes that he is Shahrukh Khan. The makeup is done by Academy award winner makeup artist Greg Cannon who has previously styled Brad Pitt for ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’. The makeup and special effects looks so spot on from the film promos that we just cannot wait to watch the film.


3) Jabra
Admit it! The song has got you tapping your foot all the time. ‘Jabra Fan Ho Gaya’ is probably the best fan anthem ever! It encapsulates every fan’s emotions and feelings towards his/her idol so beautifully that we are waiting to sing the song in the theatres too.


4) Interesting Concept
The film has an interesting concept. A superstar and his obsessive fan and them at loggerheads with each other. It is a stimulating and universal concept which everyone can relate too. Anyone who has ever idolized anybody in their lives will relate to the film.



5) Supporting Cast
Fan boasts of an exciting supporting cast in the form of Shriya Pilgaonkar who is seasoned actor along with  Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar’s daughter and Sayani Gupta who won accolades for her performance in Margarita with a Straw. Exciting!


6) YRF
Yash Raj Films is one of the biggest production houses in India and is responsible for some of the best films ever like DDLJ, Silsila, Chandani, Chak De amongst others. YRF is also responsible for giving SRK the biggest hits of his career in the form of DDLJ and Darr. The film is directed by Maneesh Sharma who directed the lovable Band BaajaBaraat.


7) Promotions
Fan promotions have mostly been low key. But there have been some exciting promotions in the form of dressing SRK’s wax statue in his character’s clothes and getting it out in full public view in London for fans to see. Smart marketing we must say!


Fan has no major competition from its Bollywood counterparts. Last week’s Love Games has failed miserably at the box office. The only competition Fan faces is from Disney’s animated film The Jungle Book but SRK will sure charm you to the theatres.

Xiaomi’s new drone is astonishingly cheap—but it won’t save Xiaomi

Today China’s Xiaomi announced its latest product—a drone priced at 2999 yuan ($456) for a model with a 4k camera, and 2499 yuan ($380) for a version with a lower resolution 1080p camera. Xiaomi says that a pre-orders will begin for the 1080p version tomorrow, while a beta version for the 4k version will be given out to select users. In true Xiaomi fashion, the device is priced astonishingly low compared to competitor models. Chinese manufacturer DJI’s Phantom 3 drone, for example, sells for $800. The drone marks Xiaomi’s most ambitious product yet, and comes at a pivotal moment for the company.
